SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR

 ➢ MSc IN OIL AND GAS ENGINEERING

 ➢ MSc IN RENEWABLE ENERGY 

2017/18 ACADEMIC YEAR 

1. EnPe-UDSM OIL AND GAS TECHNOLOGY PROJECT 

The project focuses on capacity building on scientific research on oil and gas technology at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, CoET, UDSM. Courses for MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering will be offered jointly by UDSM members of staff and with lectures from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). In addition to fulfilment of academic requirement for relevant degree award, candidates sponsored by this project are expected to contribute to the said overall project goals within four years period (January 2016 – December 2019).

 Eligibility of Sponsorship for MSc Candidates (Four positions)

 a) Must be a Tanzanian.

 b) Must have valid admission to Fulltime, MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering by Coursework and dissertation at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, CoET, UDSM. Online application for admission should be done at http://postgraduate.udsm.ac.tz/ 

c) Must be holders of BSc in Mechanical / Industrial / Electro-Mechanical / Chemical & Process / Mining / Textile Engineering or other related engineering disciplines and applied sciences.

 d) Candidates with high performance in relevant BSc programmes will have added advantage.

 e) Female candidates are encouraged to apply. 

2. UNIDO-UDSM SMALL HYDROPOWER PROJECT

 The project on Small Hydropower (SHP) Mini-Grids to Augment Rural Electrification in Tanzania focuses at capacity building for harnessing small hydropower resources and local manufacturing of hydropower systems. The project has pioneered establishment of SHP Technology Transfer Centre at College of Engineering & Technology (CoET) in addition to provision of support to students pursuing MSc. in Renewable Energy specializing in hydropower. 

Eligibility of Sponsorship for MSc Candidates (One position) 

a) Must be a Tanzanian.

 b) Must have valid admission to Fulltime, MSc Renewable Energy by Coursework and dissertation at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, CoET, UDSM. Online application for admission should be done at http://postgraduate.udsm.ac.tz/ 

 c) Must be holders of BSc in Mechanical / Industrial / Electro-Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical & Process Engineering or other related engineering disciplines and applied sciences.
