MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIPS TENABLE IN MEXICO FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2017 1.0 Call for Application Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians to fill two positions for Undergraduate scholarships tenable in Mexico for the academic year 2017. 2. FIELD OF STUDY • Engineering 3. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must: • Have completed and passed Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education and have obtained an average grade of ‘C’ in the relevant subjects; • Not be admitted in Higher learning institutions; • Not be older than 25 years of age by September 2016; and • Have good health. 4. VIUMBE;SAMAKI JIKE WANACHAGUA VIPI WAUME WAZURI?

Ni kawaida kwa wanyama jike kuchagua waume wazuri na kuzaa watoto wenye jeni nzuri. Lakini jambo hili si rahisi kwa samaki jike, kwani mayai yao yanaungana na shahawa majini, hivyo inaonekana hawawezi kuzuia mayai yasiungane na shahawa za madume wabaya. Kwa hiyo watafanyaje?

Mwanabiolojia Suzanne Alonzo kutoka Chuo Kikuu cha Yale na wenzake wametafiti samaki aina ya ocellated wrasse, na kugundua kuwa majike wana uwezo wa kuchagua kuzaa watoto wenye jeni nzuri.

Samaki dume wana sura na tabia tofauti, baadhi yao ni wakubwa wenye rangi ya kupendeza, wanajenga viota kwa mwani, na kuyalinda mayai kwa makini, lakini wengine ni wadogo na wavivu, hawawachumbii majike wala kuyalinda mayai. Bila shaka majike wote wanapenda kuzaa watoto na wale wanaofanya bidii. Lakini wale wavivu ni wajanja, wanakwenda kwenye viota vya wengine bila mwaliko. Jambo baya zaidi ni kwamba idadi ya mbegu za uzazi za kiume za wale wavivu ni milioni 4, lakini za wale wenye bidii ni milioni 1 tu.

Inaonekana kwamba madume wavivu watashinda, lakini matokeo ni tofauti. Theluthi mbili za mayai yataungana na mbegu za uzazi za kiume za madume wazuri. Majike wanafanya nini kutimiza hali hii?

Ukweli ni kwamba majike wanafunika mayai yao kwa majimaji ya ovari. Mbegu za uzazi za kiume za madume wazuri zina uwezo mkubwa wa kupita majimaji hayo na kufikia mayai kwa kasi zaidi, hivyo ingawa majike hawawezi kuwazuia madume wavuvi wasije, lakini bado wanaweza kuchagua baba wazuri kwa watoto wao.

ASAMOAH GYAN KUJIUNGA NA READING UINGREZA

Nahodha wa kikosi cha soka nchini Ghana Asamoah Gyan anatarajiwa kujiunga na klabu ya Reading kwa mkopo kutoka timu ya China Shanghai SIPG ambako amekuwa tangu mwaka wa 2015.

Mchezaji huyo wa zamani wa klabu ya Sunderland anafanyiwa ukaguzi wa matibabu na klabu hiyo ya daraja la kwanza.

Kiungo wa kati wa Chelsea Cesc Fabregas amepinga madai kwamba alikosana na meneja wa klabu hiyo Antonio Conte.

Meneja huyo aliripotiwa kumtaka mchezaji huyo wa miaka 29 kuondoka kabla ya kukamilika kwa siku ya mwisho ya uhamisho lakini Fabregas anahoji kwamba ataendelea kuichezea klabu hiyo hadi mwisho na iwapo atahitajika atajitolea.

Fabregas hatahivyo amechapisha katika mitandao ya kijamii akisema kuwa wawili hao wana uhusiano mzuri na kwamba ataendelea kuichezea Chelsea.

THIERRY HENRY APEWA KAZI UBELGIJI

Meneja wa timu ya taifa ya Ubelgiji Roberto Martinez amesema nyota wa zamani wa klabu za Arsenal na Barcelona, Thierry Henry, ambaye pia aling'aa sana akichezea timu ya taifa ya Ufaransa, atakuwa mmoja wa wasaidizi wake.

Henry alikuwa mmoja wa wakufunzi wa timu ya vijana Arsenal lakini akajiuzulu Julai baada ya meneja Arsene Wenger kumwambia kwamba hawezi kufanya kazi hiyo akiwa bado anaendelea kuwa mchanganuzi wa soka kwenye runinga.

Thierry Henry alikuwa kwenye kikosi cha Ufaransa kilichoshinda Kombe la Dunia mwaka 1998 nyumbani.

MORAL STORY ABOUT CHARACTER

A long time ago there was a boy. He was smart, talented and handsome. However, he was very selfish and his temper was so difficult, that nobody wanted to be friends with him. Often he got angry and said various hurtful things to people around him.

The boy‘s parents very concerned about his bad temper. They considered what they could do and one day the father had an idea. He called his son and gave him a hammer and a bag of nails. The father said: „Every time you get angry, take a nail and drive into that old fence as hard as you can.”

The fence was very tough and the hammer was heavy, nevertheless the boy was so furious that during the very first day he has driven 37 nails.

Day after day, week after week, the number of nails was gradually decreasing. After some time, the boy started to understand that holding his temper is easier that driving nails into the fence.

One day the boy didn‘t need hammer and nails anymore as he learned to hold his temper perfectly. So he came to his father and told about his achievement. „Now every time, when you hold your temper all day long, pull out one nail“.

Much time has passed. At last the boy could be proud of himself as all the nails were gone. When he came to his father and told about this, he offered to come and take a careful look at the fence. „You did a good job, my son, but pay your attention to the holes that left from the nails. The fence will never be the same. The same happens when your say hurtful things to people, as your words leave scars in their hearts like those holes in the fence. Remember, we need to treat everyone with love and respect, because it doesn‘t matter, that you say you are sorry, the scars will not disappear.

NZEGA YABAINI WANAFUNZI HEWA 4,486

WAKATI kazi ya kubaini wanafunzi hewa ikiendelea nchini kote, Wilaya ya Nzega mkoani Tabora, imebaini wanafunzi hewa 4,486 katika shule zake mbalimbali katika Halmashauri ya Mji na ile ya Wilaya.

Akizungumza na waandishi wa habari jana, Mkuu wa Wilaya ya Nzega, Godfrey Ngupulla alisema Halmashauri ya Wilaya ya Nzega ina wanafunzi hewa 2,357 wakati Halmashauri ya Mji ina wanafunzi hewa 2,129.

Ngupulla alisema, walimu waliosababisha kuwapo kwa wanafunzi hewa, watachukuliwa hatua kali za kinidhamu pamoja na kurejesha fedha ya serikali ambazo zilikuwa zikipotea.

Alisema, walimu walioisababishia hasara serikali, wanapaswa kurejesha fedha hizo haraka na akatoa onyo kali kwa walimu wakuu wengine, kutofanya udanganyifu na kuisababishia hasara serikali.

Katibu Tawala Mkoa wa Tabora, Dk Thea Ntara, aliwaagiza wakurugenzi wote wa halmashauri za mkoa wa Tabora, kuhakikisha wanasimamia uhakiki na kuwabaini wale wanaofanya udanganyifu na kuisababishia hasara serikali.

Dk Ntara alisema, takwimu hizo zitaendelea kubadilika siku hadi siku, hivyo wakurugenzi wanapaswa kusimamia na kuchukua hatua za haraka.

Ofisa Elimu Taaluma wa Mkoa, Kassim Mpanda alisema mkoa unapokea ruzuku zaidi ya Sh bilioni 1.2 kwa ajili ya fidia ya ada na michango mbalimbali iliyofutwa na serikali.

TFF YAFUNGIA WATANO LIGI KUU

Kamati ya Katiba, Sheria na Hadhi za Wachezaji ya shirikisho la kandanda nchini Tanzania TFF imewafungiwa wachezaji watano kutoka klabu tano zinazoshiriki Ligi Kuu Tanzania Bara.

Kwa mujibu wa ofisa habari wa TFF, Alfred Lucas alisema Shirikisho limetoa tahadhari kwa klabu za Mbeya City, Majimaji, Mwadui FC, Mbao FC na African Lyon kutowatumia wachezaji hao, kwani watatu wamefungiwa mwaka mmoja na wawili wamesimamishwa kwa juma moja.

Lucas alisema wachezaji hao wamegundulika kufanya udanganyifu huo kupitia usajili ambao wamefanya hapo awali kwani sura za kwenye picha ni ile ile, lakini majina ndio yamebadilishwa.

MOTHER'S SACRIFIES

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… she was such an embarrassment. My mom ran a small shop at a flea market. She collected little weeds and such to sell… anything for the money we needed she was such an embarrassment. There was this one day during elementary school.

I remember that it was field day, and my mom came. I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school… “Your mom only has one eye?!” and they taunted me.

I wished that my mom would just disappear from this world so I said to my mom, “Mom, why don’t you have the other eye?! You’re only going to make me a laughingstock. Why don’t you just die?” My mom did not respond. I guess I felt a little bad, but at the same time, it felt good to think that I had said what I’d wanted to say all this time. Maybe it was because my mom hadn’t punished me, but I didn’t think that I had hurt her feelings very badly.

That night… I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. My mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might wake me. I took a look at her, and then turned away. Because of the thing I had said to her earlier, there was something pinching at me in the corner of my heart. Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of her one eye. So I told myself that I would grow up and become successful, because I hated my one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty.

Then I studied really hard. I left my mother and came to Seoul and studied, and got accepted in the Seoul University with all the confidence I had. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. Then I had kids, too. Now I’m living happily as a successful man. I like it here because it’s a place that doesn’t remind me of my mom.

This happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when someone unexpected came to see me “What?! Who’s this?!” It was my mother… Still with her one eye. It felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me. My little girl ran away, scared of my mom’s eye.

And I asked her, “Who are you? I don’t know you!!” as if I tried to make that real. I screamed at her “How dare you come to my house and scare my daughter! Get out of here now!!” And to this, my mother quietly answered, “oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,” and she disappeared. Thank goodness… she doesn’t recognize me. I was quite relieved. I told myself that I wasn’t going to care, or think about this for the rest of my life.

Then a wave of relief came upon me… one day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. I lied to my wife saying that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went down to the old shack, that I used to call a house…just out of curiosity there, I found my mother fallen on the cold ground. But I did not shed a single tear. She had a piece of paper in her hand…. it was a letter to me.

She wrote:

My son, I think my life has been long enough now. And… I won’t visit Seoul anymore… but would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit me once in a while? I miss you so much. And I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I decided not to go to the school…. For you… I’m sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an embarrassment for you. You see, when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with only one eye… so I gave you mine… I was so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye. I was never upset at you for anything you did. The couple times that you were angry with me. I thought to myself, ‘it’s because he loves me.’ I miss the times when you were still young around me. I miss you so much. I love you. You mean the world to me.

My World Shattered.  I hated the person who only lived for me .   I cried for My Mother, I didn’t know of any way that will make up for my worst deeds…

Moral:  Never Ever hate anyone for their disabilities.  Never disrespect your parents, don’t ignore and under estimate their sacrifices.  They give us life, they raise us better than they had been, they give and keep trying to give better than they ever had.  They never wish unwell for their kids even in their wildest dreams.  They always try showing right path and being motivator.  Parents give up all for kids, forgive all mistakes made by kids.  There is no way to repay what they done for kids, all we can do is try giving what they need and it is just time, love and respect

HAPPINESS IS NOT MEASURED BY MATERIAL THINGS

There was a boy, whose family was very wealthy. One day his father took him on a trip to the country, where he aimed to show his son, how poor people live. So they arrived to a farm of a very poor family, as he considered. They spent there several days. On their return, the father asked his son, did he like the trip.

„Oh, it was great, dad” – the boy replied. „Did you notice how poor people live?” „Yeah, I did“- said the boy. The father asked his son to tell in more details about his impressions from their trip“.

„Well, we have only one dog, and they have four of them. In our garden there is a pool, while they have a river that has no end. We‘ve got expensive lanterns, but they have stars above their heads at night. We have the patio, and they have the whole horizon. We have only a small piece of land, while they have the endless fields. We buy food, but they grow it. We have high fence for protection of our property, and they don‘t need it, as their friends protect them.”

The father was stunned. He could not say a word.

Then the boy added: „Thank you, dad, for letting me see how poor we are.”

This story shows that the true wealth as well as happiness is not measured by materials things. Love, friendship and freedom are far more valuable

FUNNY STORY TO TELL FRIENDS...

A man walked into a small Irish pub and ordered three beers. Bartender was surprised, but he served that man three beers. One hour later the man ordered three beers again. The very next day that man ordered three beers again and drank quietly at a table. This repeated several times and shortly after the people of the town were whispering about the man, who was ordering three beers at once.

A couple of weeks later, the bartender decided to clear this out and inquired: „I do not want to pry, but could you explain, why do you order three beers all the time?” The man replied: „It seems strange, isn‘t it? You see, my two brothers live abroad at the moment, one – in France and another – in Italy. We have made an agreement, that every time we go to pub each of us will order extra two beers and it will help keeping up the family bond“.

Soon all the town have heard about the man‘s answer and liked it a lot. The man became a local celebrity. Residents of the town were telling this story to newcomers or tourists and even invited them to that pub to look at Three Beer Man.

However, one day the man came to pub and ordered only two beers, not three as usual. The bartender served him with bad feeling. All that evening the man ordered and drank only two beers. The very next day all the town was talking about these news, some people pray for the soul of one of the brothers, others quietly grieve.

When the man came to pub the next time and ordered two beers again, the bartender asked him: „I would like to offer condolences to you, due to the death of your dear brother”. The man considered this for a moment and then replied: „Oh, you are probably surprised that I order only two beers now? Well, my two brothers are alive and well. It‘s just because of my decision. I promised myself to give up drinking“.
