1. Second Semester Supplementary and Special Examinations
The second semester supplementary and special examinations will be held
from Monday 26th September 2016 to Saturday 1st October 2016.
2. Registration of Students
The registration of students for 2016/2017 academic year will start on
Monday 3rd October 2016.
3. The beginning of the new academic year will be preceded by the celebration
of the Holy Mass on Monday loth October 2016 at 9.30am in M9.
4. The Beginning of Lectures
You are all informed that lectures will begin on Tuesday 11th October 2016
at 07:45am. Please punctuality as part of professional code of conduct is

atika miaka mingi iliyopita wanajimu hawakupata maoni ya pamoja
kuhusu jinsi mwezi ulivyozaliwa. Kimsingi waliwahi kutoa nadharia nne
kuhusu chanzo cha mwezi.
Nadharia ya kwanza ni kwamba mwezi uligawanyika kutoka katika dunia
yetu. Mwaka 1898, mnajimu George Howard Darwin alisema mwanzoni mwezi
ulikuwa ni sehemu moja ya dunia, lakini dunia ilizunguka kwa kasi kupita
kiasi na kusababisha mwezi kugawanyika katika dunia. Lakini sampuli za
miamba ya mwezi zilizopelekwa duniani na chombo cha anga ya juu
zinaonesha kuwa miamba ya mwezi ni tofauti kabisa na ile ya dunia, hivyo
nadharia hii si sahihi.Nadharia ya tatu inasema hewa na vumbi kwenye mfumo wa jua vilikusanyika pamoja na kuunda mwezi na dunia, hivyo vina chanzo cha pamoja. Lakini nadharia hii pia imekanushwa, kwa sababu sampuli za miamba ya mwezi zinaonesha kwamba mwezi una historia ndefu zaidi kuliko dunia.
Nadharia ya nne imekubaliwa na watu wengi zaidi, inasema wakati dunia ilipoanza kuundwa, iligongwa na kimondo. Vipande vya kimondo hiki vilikimbilia duniani, lakini kutokana na mvuto wa dunia, havikwenda mbali na kukusanyika pamoja na kuunda mwezi.
2017 GLOBAL KOREA SCHOLARSHIP FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE
The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under the Ministry of Education of the
Republic of Korea invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to apply for 2017 Global Korea
Scholarship: Korean Government Scholarship Program for International Students for an
Undergraduate Degree (2017 Undergraduate GKS) tenable in the Republic of Korea for academic
year 2017 - 2022.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:-
• Be Tanzanians;
• be under 25 years as of March, 2017 (Should be born after March, 1992);
• have a good health both physically and mentally;
• have good passes in their Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education
Examination preferably Division I;
Those who have already achieved a Bachelor’s degree or admitted in any Higher Education
Institutions are NOT ELIGIBLE.
MODE OF APPLICATION:
• All applicants are required to personally apply using application forms available at the websites
(http://www.studyinkorea.go.kr), (http://tza.mofa.go.kr) and attach all Required
Documents.
• After filling the application forms, produce three sets of photocopies with their attachments
so that in total you have four sets of application forms.
• Submit your application forms to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, 19th Floor Golden
Jubilee Towers, Ohio Street, City Centre, P. O. Box 1154, Dar es Salaam.
Deadline for submission of applications to the Embassy is 17th October, 2016.

Information on Issuance of Admission Letters to Students Admitted at the University of Dar es Salaam for the Academic Year 2016/2017 Congratulations for being admitted to the University of Dar es Salaam. You should note that your first step to becoming a student is to get your admission letter. This is therefore to inform you that admission letters for the UDSM admitted students will be ready for issue from 3 rd October 2016 for Students who are residing in Dar es Salaam. Those from the upcountry will collect their admission letter during the orientation week which is expected to start from 8th October 2016. The University advises the admitted students at the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Mlimani Campus, the College of Information and Communication Technologies and the School of Journalism and Mass communication who wish to collect their letters before the University’s opening date to do so as they visit the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Mlimani Campus. Note: No student is forced to collect his/her letter before the opening of the University as the University will continue issuing the admission letters to students arriving on the opening date. On collecting letters, students will have to observe the following: Show to issuing officer a valid Identity Card (Election card or Bank card or Driving licence or Passport) The names appearing on the identity card should match the ones appearing on the admission letter No one will be allowed to collect letters on behalf of selected students To report with admission letters at the identity card offices around the Dr. W. Chagula University Library for photograph taking on the same day To go for medical examination at any District/ Regional Government hospital.
